What this one is for

A 10 second timer is the gap between Tabata rounds, the transition between circuit stations, and the only rest you get before the next set of twenty.

Ten seconds is also a breath hold, a countdown before a take, and long enough to notice how short it is when you are out of breath.

Press Space to start. It beeps at zero, which is the whole job at this length.

Good for

  • Rest between Tabata rounds
  • Circuit station transitions
  • Breath hold practice
  • A countdown before recording

03

How it runs

Counts down 10 sec, then beeps. Press Start, or hit Space. The digits turn green while a work block runs and grey on rest.

Sound is on by default: a rising pair for work, a falling pair for rest, a tick for the last three seconds and a three-note finish. Mute with the speaker button. The screen stays on while the timer runs and the tab title shows the time left.

Change anything in Settings under the timer. The last setup you used on this page is remembered in your browser.

Questions people ask

Can I get repeating 10 second rests?
Yes. The Tabata page runs 20 seconds work and 10 seconds rest on a loop with beeps between, so you never restart anything.
Will it beep if I switch tabs?
The countdown stays accurate from timestamps, and the beep plays while the tab is open or as soon as you come back. At ten seconds you will probably be watching anyway.
Can I change it to 15 or 20 seconds?
Yes, edit the duration on the timer or use the other seconds pages.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no account.
