What this one is for
A 7 second timer is an isometric hold. Seven seconds is a common prescription for maximal isometrics, long enough to reach real tension and short enough that you can still push hard the whole way through.
Seven seconds also covers a paused rep at the sticking point, a stretch held just past comfortable, and one round of a slow exhale.
Press Space to start. It beeps at zero so you can close your eyes and just hold.

Good for

- Paused reps at the sticking point
- Short stretch holds
- Slow controlled exhales

How it runs
Counts down 7 sec, then beeps. Press Start, or hit Space. The digits turn green while a work block runs and grey on rest.
Sound is on by default: a rising pair for work, a falling pair for rest, a tick for the last three seconds and a three-note finish. Mute with the speaker button. The screen stays on while the timer runs and the tab title shows the time left.
Change anything in Settings under the timer. The last setup you used on this page is remembered in your browser.
Questions people ask
- How long should an isometric hold be?
- Around six to ten seconds for maximal effort holds. Longer holds are a different stimulus, closer to endurance than strength.
- Can I loop it for several holds?
- Yes, the interval timer repeats a work and rest pair so you get a beep at each switch.
- Will it beep with the screen off?
- The count stays correct either way, but the beep needs the tab in front. Keep the page up while you hold.
- Can I change the duration?
- Yes, set any number of seconds, or use the 5 and 10 second pages.
